Director Marketing (University marketing)

The Marketing Director for the Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) reports to the Senior Vice President for University Marketing and Communications with a dotted line to the Dean of SKMC. This role collaborates with key leaders across the college, including department chairs, as well as the Marketing Associate VP, and members of the broader marketing teammdash;spanning university, health, creative, web and digital, and media relations. The director will lead strategic initiatives that elevate SKMCrsquo;s visibility and reputation in medical education, research, and healthcare on local, regional, and national levels.
The successful candidate will bring a collaborative, high-performance mindset, fostering a culture of creativity and innovation. A deep understanding of medical education and the healthcare landscape is essential.
- Partner with the SVP and Associate VP of Marketing to work closely with SKMCrsquo;s leadership, Alumni Board, Institutional Advancement, and the Presidentrsquo;s Office to align marketing strategies with SKMCrsquo;s goals and those of Thomas Jefferson University and the academic health system.
- Design and execute marketing plans grounded in institutional priorities and informed by market insights, working with SKMC and university teams to drive effective outcomes.
- Exhibit strong project and time management skills, adeptly managing multiple projects across various creative phases.
- Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, including Admissions, Student Life, Administration, and Marketing, consistently demonstrating integrity, sound judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Adapt and refine marketing strategies to address the evolving needs of SKMC, enhancing its visibility and impact.
- Utilize innovative technology in market research, strategy development, and campaign execution.
- Develop compelling narratives that reflect SKMCrsquo;s mission and resonate with key audiences.
Additional Duties:
- Support other initiatives and perform related responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field (required).
- Masterrsquo;s degree preferred.
Experience:
- 10 to 15 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic marketing and communications, ideally within a medical college or university setting.
- Demonstrated success in crafting multi-channel content for diverse audiences.
