Primary Purpose:

Under direct supervision provide clerical assistance, including data entry, filing, answering phones, for the efficient operation of the campus office.

Qualifications:

Education / Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient keyboarding skills and file maintenance

Ability to use computer

Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to follow written instructions

Ability to operate multi-line phone system

Experience/Other Requirements:

One year clerical experience in office setting

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Assist Receptionist with greeting and directing campus visitors.
  2. Assist in receiving and directing incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  3. Assist parents in checking students in and out of school.
  4. Receive, sort, and distribute mail, messages, documents, and other deliveries.
  5. Assist with the receipt and distribution of student materials, including homework requests.
  1. Assist Administrative Assistant with data entry and other clerical assistance as needed.
  2. Assist with preparation of materials for mailing, including preparing labels, stuffing envelopes, etc.
  3. Maintain confidentiality.
  4. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Multi-line phone system, personal computer, and typewriter.

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)

Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional districtwide travel

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
