Electrical Engineer Industrial Power

MKEC is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Industrial / Energy group located in our Wichita, Kansas office. Engineering projects will include refining, gas processing, and other related process facilities. This position is available due to growth opportunities.
Responsibilities:

Prepare electrical equipment specification for MCC's, Switchgear, Substations and electrical equipment selection.

Review specifications, drawings and vendor equipment documentation from both within the electrical engineering
discipline and with other engineering disciplines for compliance with the project requirements. -
Apply design knowledge in power distribution, grounding, lighting, control systems and equipment specification &
selection. -
Complete projects with the specified electrical deliverables such as equipment supplier bid evaluation, load list, electrical equipment, cable and conduit schedules, generator sizing, one-line diagrams for low & medium voltage, hazardous area classification drawings and ground grid design.

Ensure adherence to industry standards and building codes.

Travel: 10-20%
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with electrical design projects including coordination with other engineering disciplines for oil & gas facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in low & medium voltage power distribution (including power system design), equipment/protective device sizing and power system studies.
- Demonstrated experience with single line diagrams, area classifications, power and control schematics, wiring design, raceway design specific to tray and conduit systems, lighting and grounding design and electrical installation details.
- Understanding of engineering specifications with motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC's, VFD's, soft starters, and UPS systems.
- Highly organized, self-motivated and able to handle multiple project tasks. Excellent presentation and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines, be self-directed, exhibit good business judgment and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
- PE license is preferred.
- Proficient user of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Internet)
