Overview

Jhpiego is seeking a Director of Marketing and Brand to be responsible for driving external engagement, increasing donor and partner acquisition, and enhancing brand visibility for the organization. This role oversees marketing strategies, brand management, and digital campaigns that align with organizational goals and values. The Director works closely with cross-functional teams to create cohesive messaging and ensure data-driven approaches to marketing and brand initiatives.

Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy and Implementation

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to drive donor and partner engagement and enhance brand visibility.
  • Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and audience segmentation.
  • Define and manage annual marketing budgets, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to refine strategies and stay ahead of industry developments.

Digital Marketing

  • Oversee the organization’s digital presence, including website content, SEO optimization, and email marketing strategies.
  • Design and execute targeted digital advertising campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, social media ads) to drive audience engagement and conversions.
  • Analyze digital marketing metrics and generate insights to improve campaign effectiveness and inform decision-making.
  • Innovate with emerging digital tools and platforms to enhance outreach and engagement.

Content Development and Branding

  • Lead the creation and production of marketing materials, including brochures, newsletters, case studies, and sponsorship decks.
  • Establish and enforce brand guidelines to ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all platforms and materials.
  • Work collaboratively with creative services to produce high-quality visual content, videos, and infographics.
  • Develop storytelling approaches that effectively communicate the organization’s impact to external audiences.

Corporate and Brand Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate and brand partners to secure sponsorships and collaborative opportunities.
  • Identify and negotiate new partnership opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational values and goals.
  • Develop co-branded initiatives with partners to amplify mutual impact and visibility.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure donor-facing materials reflect organizational priorities and values.
  • Collaborate with Development, Communications and Program teams to align marketing initiatives with fundraising goals and programmatic objectives.

Team Leadership and Supervision

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse marketing team, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to ensure marketing strategies are integrated and cohesive.
  • Establish team KPIs and regularly assess performance to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10 + years of experience in marketing and brand management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing teams and strategic initiatives.
  • Proven expertise in developing and executing digital paid strategies, SEO, and integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Strong understanding of branding principles, brand strategy development, and its consistent application across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and measure data-driven marketing strategies using tools like Google Analytics, CRM platforms, and other analytics dashboards.
  • Advanced skills in digital marketing techniques, including social media strategy, email marketing, and audience segmentation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating compelling narratives and content for diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with design and marketing tools and other content creation platforms.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration to achieve unified marketing and branding goals.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining corporate and brand partnerships, including sponsorship acquisition and relationship management.
  • Expertise in budget management, ensuring cost-effective allocation of marketing resources.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of emerging trends in digital marketing, branding, and communication.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working in a global context with diverse stakeholders and audiences.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

The salary range for this role is expected to be: $127,872 -  $162,786.

The referenced salary range is based on Johns Hopkins University’s good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
