We are seeking a visionary, innovative and driven VP of Product, to lead the transformation of eHow. You will take part in reshaping the user experience of the site, with a mobile first approach, from ideas all the way through execution. You will structure and lead your team to best support the present business as well as build the business of the future. Your contribution will reach over 70 million people who come to eHow every month to get practical solutions and advice for making their lives better and easier.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop eHow’s long term product vision and strategy, and translate this product strategy into an execution plan with short, mid and long-term deliverables.
  2. Reinvent the brand and build a high quality, innovative, customer-focused experience, on both mobile and desktop.
  3. Develop the long term operational and financial models for each product initiative with your business counterparts.
  4. Interface with key stakeholders (editorial, engineering, design, business) to understand business needs and collaboratively manage the product roadmap.
  5. Build a strong product management organization, focus the team around a common vision, and lead them in day to day execution.
  6. Drive customer research and leverage consumer behavior insights to create great product features, consumer engagement, and satisfaction.
  7. Understand competitive landscape, stay abreast of product and technology trends, and share learnings; use this knowledge to inform requirements and new product features.
  8. Define key success measures for products and provide transparency of performance.
  9. Identify dependencies, assumptions and constraints that affect the outcome of each project.
  10. Plan iterations and lead inspection efforts throughout product lifecycle.
  11. Communicate new product developments throughout the organization.

Requirements:

  1. 10 years of product leadership experience in the online space, with demonstrated success launching and maintaining winning web-based and mobile, consumer-focused products.
  2. 5 years of experience leading and managing people, this candidate will be an excellent team builder, coach, and mentor.
  3. Ability to drive both the strategic development and the operational implementation of product development, with a demonstrated ability to gather user requirements and convert them into a winning product vision.
  4. Strong leadership skills and initiative; must establish credibility within teams as a visionary and knowledgeable leader.
  5. The ideal candidate will have a blend of large, market leading companies and start-up experience.
  6. Experience managing community-based products preferred.
  7. Working knowledge of the product development stages and process, and the technologies involved in web and mobile development.
  8. Experience of “faster than Agile” technology development processes is preferred.
  9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.
  11. Highly motivated, with entrepreneurial mindset.
