The Company's lead product candidate, bexotegrast (PLN-74809), is an oral small molecule, selective inhibitor of the αvβ1 and αvβ6 integrins that play a key role in multiple fibrotic pathways. Bexotegrast has received Fast Track Designation and Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for both idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and Orphan Drug Designation from the European Medicines Agency in IPF and PSC. Pliant is currently conducting BEACON-IPF, a Phase 2b/3 trial of bexotegrast for the treatment of IPF.
Pliant is conducting a Phase 1 study for its third clinical program, PLN-101095, a small molecule, dual-selective inhibitor of αvß8 and αvß1 integrins, that is being developed for the treatment of solid tumors. The Company also has discovery and development programs in oncology and muscular dystrophies.
Description
Pliant Therapeutics is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Office Assistant to provide support to our Employee Experience team. This will be a contracted, part-time role. As the Office Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our office on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will have a customer-focused mindset, excel in a fast-paced environment, and possess strong organizational and communication skills. A high level of discretion in handling sensitive company information is also essential. This is an onsite, part-time role (24 hours per week), with working hours from 8:00AM to 2:00PM, Monday through Thursday and will report to the Sr. Operations and Employee Experience Manager at Pliant.
Responsibilities
- Visitor and Front Desk Management: Greet and welcome visitors, direct visitors to the appropriate personnel with professionalism and courtesy.
- Clerical and Mail Handling: Oversee daily clerical operations related to mail, collaborate with the Shipping & Receiving team to manage deliveries and ensure timely distribution of mail to the correct departments.
- Office Operations Support: Work closely with the Day Porter and Office Administrator to maintain a clean and organized office environment. Partner with Office Administrator to prioritize daily tasks and ensure all operational needs are met.
- Inventory and Supplies Management: Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory and place orders as needed to ensure adequate stock levels. Organize and restock office supplies cabinets regularly.
- Meeting and Event Support: Provide administrative assistance for internal and external meetings. Order catered meals and book venues as needed for offsites and other events.
- Company-Wide Lunches: Oversee and manage lunches provided by Pliant to all employees on Tuesday and Thursdays. Assist the Office Administrator to ensure lunches are handled efficiently and in an orderly manner.
- Special Projects and Initiatives: Actively assists company events, and other special projects as required to support company-wide initiatives.

- Bachelors degree preferred

- Prior administrative or office support experience is a plus
- Must be available to work onsite, 24 hours per week, Monday through Thursday (8am - 2pm)
- Spanish language is a plus
Pliant requires all new hires to be fully vaccinated prior to the first date of employment (subject to any legally required exemptions).
The hourly rate for this role is $30/hr. - $33.00/hr. Individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including, and without limitation job-related skills, experience, work location and relevant education or training.
