Homans Associates (HA) is a subsidiary of the largest independent HVAC/R distribution company in the world, Watsco, Inc. We proudly distribute the Mitsubishi and Bryant brands of HVAC equipment, as well as a full line of HVAC residential and commercial parts, supplies, and accessories. We have locations throughout New England, New York, and New Jersey. We currently have an opening for a Territory Manager in Edison NJ. There is no relocation assistance offered for this position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
  • Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
  • Negotiates pricing based on what the market will bear while maintaining profit goals of the company.
  • Achieve or exceed territory sales budget as well as contributing additional sales to help achieve overall regional sales budgets.
  • Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
  • Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts along with providing information to help set usage levels.
  • Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries and products.
  • Attends trade shows.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate degree (A. A.) from two-year college or technical school.
  • Minimum of three (3) years Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Wholesale Distribution Sales experience.
  • Technical knowledge of HVAC equipment, parts supplies and accessories service and installation.
  • In depth knowledge of warehouse, purchasing, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures.
  • Must have the ability to negotiate transactions on an intra- and inter-company level. Must possess the ability to mediate situations among customers as they arise.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Beginner to intermediate user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to learn new software quickly and accurately.
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license along with continuous and current vehicle insurance based on Company policy.
