Senior Infrastructure Engineer Web3

ZipRecruiter, San Francisco, CA, United States

Job Description

The Company
Our client is redefining blockchain scalability with innovative solutions that enable dynamic, high-performance blockchain experiences. Traditional dApps deployed on general-purpose blockchains face challenges like congestion, high fees, and network outages due to competition with thousands of other applications.

Their groundbreaking software empowers the most forward-thinking blockchain applications to launch their own custom blockchains (rollups). This approach allows applications to scale to millions of users, own their ecosystems, and deliver a superior user experience.

The Role
We're looking for an exceptional Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in building the future of blockchain scalability. This is a unique opportunity for engineers passionate about solving complex scalability challenges or those eager to transition into blockchain engineering.

As part of a fast-paced, high-impact team, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of both the product and the company.

Backed by top-tier investors, the role offers competitive compensation, an equity grant in the company, and comprehensive benefits. If you thrive in a dynamic environment and want to contribute to the cutting edge of blockchain technology, this position is for you.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and develop backend systems to facilitate the seamless operation of the company's chains.
  • Enhance and optimize the DevOps pipeline to enable reliable and secure deployments of Caldera chains.
  • Continuously improve the observability stack to ensure robust infrastructure monitoring and reliability.
  • Maintain and advance the security posture of cloud infrastructure, emphasizing best practices and resilience.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain robust security measures within AWS to mitigate security threats.
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities in AWS environments.
  • Enforce AWS security best practices, including IAM policy management, VPC configurations, and network protections.
  • Conduct security evaluations and audits of AWS infrastructure, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Strengthen and safeguard Kubernetes clusters, addressing vulnerabilities and enhancing resilience.
  • Implement security policies such as network policies, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secure contexts for Kubernetes clusters.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents within Kubernetes environments.

What You Bring to the Table

  • 4+ years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in writing backend services using Go or TypeScript.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, including Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Helm.
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud and infrastructure providers such as AWS, Vercel, and Cloudflare.
  • Strong security awareness with experience in threat modeling and designing secure systems.
  • Confidence in performance optimization, identifying bottlenecks, and addressing scalability challenges.
  • Familiarity with observability tools like Grafana or Datadog.
  • Understanding of blockchain fundamentals, including how Ethereum or Bitcoin function under the hood.
  • Knowledge of Ethereum scaling solutions, such as sidechains and rollups.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic primitives, including hash functions and digital signatures.
  • Experience building Ethereum dapps is a plus.

What You'll Get

  • A salary of $150K - $250K / year + equity.
