Senior Estimator (Underground Utilities)

Summary:

Arrowmark is seeking a talented and driven Senior Estimator to join our team in our Underground Division. The Senior Estimator (Underground Utilities) will be driven to win projects and will be able to multitask to provide estimating on multiple projects. This will include providing takeoffs, assisting in pricing and soliciting bidders, and in getting the project contracted and started.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Seek bid documents and maintain contact with prospective client representatives.
• Perform site visits to accurately determine work conditions and needs.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from electronic or hard-copy plans.
• Solicit subcontractors and materials suppliers
• Develop conceptual, budgetary and hard-bid estimates utilizing estimating software
• Present and discuss estimates for final pricing decisions by VP of Estimating
• Prepare proposals and bid packages.
• Revise bids as requested by clients.
• Keep files and backup to turn over for construction once awarded.
• Follow up on submitted proposals and assist during contract negotiations and award process.
• Update/enhance bidding database.
• Maintain bid log and consult internally as needed.
• Quantify cost impact of ongoing project changes and assist in developing change orders.
• Support construction operations and project management when warranted.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of commercial estimating experience
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Strong knowledge of site work and paving operations
• Must have valid driver license
• Must be able to meet deadlines and multi-task when warranted.
• Self-starter, results-oriented individual with sufficient interpersonal skills to fit within company culture and become a valuable team member.
• This is a safety sensitive position. Applicants must pass pre-employment drug screen and basic physical.

Physical Requirements:

• Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required
