Job Description
Looking for a SRE to join the Investment Banking group which is responsible for the maintenance and support the bankers including the mobile application built on AWS cloud platform. The candidate should have strong technical, functional, and analytical skills with good experience of automation and supporting critical infrastructure and troubleshooting on AWS, Kafka, CRM and Salesforce systems. This position will contribute towards supporting and driving Application Infrastructure platform to completion and serving as subject matter expert to the user community, across Infrastructure, Platform, and Software as a Service (Iaas/PaaS/SaaS). The team operates in a follow the sun support model. The function provides a variety of services to our stakeholders including Observability, Monitoring, Automation and Operational Readiness of new solution and implementation of new applications on mobile platform.
Role / Principal Accountabilities
Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $100,000-$125,000
The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications. Role / Principal Accountabilities
- As a SRE, you will create scripts/process to increase the efficiency of daily support. This includes updating runbooks and support procedures.
- Work with Incident Management team to provide RCAs for Incidents
- Active collaboration with the Investment Banking product development teams to on board new applications within the Cloud environments.
- Responsible for looking at ways to improve/automate SRE items - availability, latency, performance, efficiency, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues.
- Handle trouble tickets, user requests, proactive maintenance.
- Good understanding of ITIL and Change Management policies is required.
- Work with Platform Engineering Team on Operational Readiness and Implement engineered solutions to improve efficiency and stability of the application infrastructure are good to have.
- Provide documentation for 1st line Operations team and maintain run books.
- Investigate and determine root causes for major incidents with the help of vendors and internal infrastructure teams, providing a detailed RCA and plan for remediation.
- Attend to escalations during Follow-The-Sun support hours.
- Contribute towards BAU Projects.
- Aid and support to transformation programs for application and services looking to move to the cloud environment.
- Support and manage application infrastructure for mobile applications built on AWS platform is plus
- Solid experience on scripting using python or PowerShell.
- Experience on Ansible, GIT and Terraform is plus.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues on AWS and Kafka is plus.
- Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering components are necessary.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide resolution.
- Written and verbal communication skills are a must.
- Work independently as well as in a team.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver on complex problems and incidents.
- Pro-active, energetic professional with strong communication and networking skills
- Experience of working with offshore IT teams Solid experience of supporting applications on AWS platform in a large-scale, distributed environment is plus.
- Cloud tools such as Kubernetes and Kafka are must.
