Software Development Engineer, AWS Supply Chain, AWS Supply Chain

Amazon, Austin, Texas, us, 78716

Description

As part of the AWS Solutions organization, we have a vision to provide business applications, leveraging Amazon's unique experience and expertise, that are used by millions of companies worldwide to manage day-to-day operations. We will accomplish this by accelerating our customers' businesses through the delivery of intuitive and differentiated technology solutions that solve enduring business challenges. We blend vision with curiosity and Amazon's real-world experience to build opinionated, turnkey solutions. Where customers prefer to buy over build, we become their trusted partner with solutions that are no-brainers to buy and easy to use.

It's truly Day 1 for our team in AWS Supply Chain. This is your opportunity to be an engineer on a team that's building a suite of AWS Apps and Services to tackle a huge problem space. You'll be an integral part of building services that leverage cutting-edge AWS technologies like SageMaker, Forecast, Athena, QuickSight, Glue, and more. As a member of this team, you'll wear many hats, own large chunks of design and development work for various components, and establish the technology processes and practices that will lay the groundwork for the organization as it grows.

What you will do here:

We're looking for software developers who thrive when presented with complex challenges and can serve as strong mentors for other engineers as the team grows. Think of this as a start-up within AWS, combining the challenges and growth opportunities of a start-up with the scale and scope of AWS. This is your chance to think big, fail fast, learn even faster, and iterate quickly to launch.

Specific responsibilities include the following:

Deal with ambiguity in solving a complex supply chain problem space that has not been tackled at this scale before.

Work with other engineering teams who are aligned towards the same goal, with many opportunities for cross-team influence, architecture, and collaboration.

Be a key contributor in setting the team's technical direction, best practices, and plan for the years ahead.

Front-end and full-stack engineers will work closely with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to define the customer experience and then design & implement it with best-of-breed web technologies and AWS services.

Back-end engineers will design and build the core backbone infrastructure and platform of services leveraging key AWS capabilities and cutting-edge ML, AI, and analytics models.

This team is a great fit for you if:

You enjoy working with a fun team that prides itself on a great work environment with an inclusive group of people working together towards a common goal.

You are sensitive to customer needs and interested in working on a service that will be used, directly and indirectly, by millions of customers and has a meaningful impact on their functions and interactions.

You'd like to be directly responsible for solving real customer problems.

You are a passionate learner and are motivated to take on new challenges.

You want to have fun; surround yourself with a highly talented pool of engineers who like to solve complex problems but also enjoy work-life balance.
