UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a Network Architect for a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in the EST time zone and have an active LinkedIn account.

Position

The Network Architect will design, implement, and support enterprise data center network solutions to replace legacy infrastructure and expand network capacity. This role involves planning network migrations, coordinating deployment activities, and ensuring optimal performance and security for the organization’s data center network.

Scope of Services

The Network Architect will:

Assess the current data center networks to identify areas for improvement.

Design and architect enterprise data center network solutions.

Implement load balancing solutions and Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies.

Plan and execute migration events to replace legacy equipment.

Collaborate with teams to address escalations and ensure timely resolutions.

Responsibilities

Configure and deploy data center network infrastructure, including Cisco ACI, Nexus switches, ASR routers, FirePower firewalls, VMware NSX, and F5 Load Balancers.

Design and implement secure, high-performance enterprise networks.

Plan and manage migrations, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal downtime.

Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues.

Mandatory Skills/Experience

12+ years of experience in planning, designing, configuring, and implementing enterprise networks, including Wide Area and Data Center networks.

Proficiency with technologies such as Cisco ASR, Cisco 9k/7k/5k, Cisco ACI, and VMware NSX.

In-depth knowledge of IP networking and web protocols (IPv4, IPv6, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

Expertise in NGFW technologies such as FortiGate, Zscaler, Cisco FirePower, or Cisco Meraki.

Proven ability to collaborate with network architects and engineers to address complex network issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

Active CCIE certification.

Active CCNP or CCDP certifications.

Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.

Experience working in multiple hardware and software environments.
