Schwab’s Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) engineering is an organization within Schwab Technology Services aligned to support the technology needs of Schwab Asset Management (SAM), Wealth & Advice Solutions (WAS), the Schwab Center for Financial Research (SCFR), and Third-Party Platform teams. Wealth Management Engineering (WME), an organization within WAM Engineering, is dedicated to providing support to WAS which is a growth area for Schwab.
This newly created role will support the future growth of the WAS business. As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will enable WME to achieve consistent, predictable, high-quality delivery by implementing best practices, tools, metrics, automation frameworks and provide oversight in the areas of software development and testing. You’ll serve as a strong and versatile hands-on technical leader. You will deliver high-quality solutions that meet business objectives in a flexible, collaborative, and rapidly changing environment.
You will play a critical role in supporting key stakeholders across the WAS organization which is focused on high-net worth and ultra-high net worth retail investors. Supported business functions span Schwab’s Wealth and Investment Solutions including Schwab Wealth Advisory. You will be working with a team of talented and highly motivated technologists that strive to make technology a strategic differentiator for Schwab’s WAS business and their clients.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s/master’s degree from a top tier university
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Hands on experience gained through at least 10 years in a complex software development role.
1-2 years of Schwab technology domain experience as a current or recent contractor or employee
Experience with fullstack application development technologies, including C# and Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, front end technologies such as Angular or React, ASP.NET web forms, MVC, JSON/XML, Relational (SQL/Oracle) and Document-Based (No-SQL/MongoDB) databases, and Cloud technologies.
Experience with build tools - Gradle or Maven.
Experience developing single page applications with Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
Understanding cloud-native enterprise applications deployed in PCF, AWS, GCP or Azure.
Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools using GitHub/GitActions and Bitbucket/Bamboo.
Strong Application Security experience integrating and resolving vulnerabilities within Veracode and SonarQube.
Knowledge of object-oriented principals and design patterns.
Application performance evaluation and tuning skills.
Application development using TDD Practices like unit testing and Behavior/Feature testing including Zephyr integration.
Understanding of Agile software development principles, including experience participating in a Scrum-based delivery team.
Strong experience using ‘git’ as source control systems.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with configuring feature flag using Launch Darkly and with web Adobe Analytics tagging.
Experience developing single page applications using NgRx.
Demonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting Issues using Splunk, including logging, and creating Splunk alerts.
Event-based messaging experience leveraging RabbitMQ or Kafka.
Experience providing Production and Operations Support.
Ability to work independently and also collaborate with all types of stakeholders, both technical and business, peers, and leaders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.
