Dean of Campus – South Campus

Position Description

Second Baptist School University-Model (SBSUM) is excited to be launching a sixth campus, opening for the 2025-26 school year, at our Second Baptist Church South campus. We are currently seeking a full-time DEAN OF CAMPUS for our newest location.

Position Title: Dean of Campus
Reports To: Head of University-Model School
Work Calendar: Twelve Month

JOB SUMMARY:

The dean of campus is a member of the school leadership team. He/she plays a pivotal role in furthering the mission of Second Baptist School by promoting the school’s core values and portrait of a graduate distinctives.

He/she will work with all staff to lead the academic curriculum, student and family well-being, and co-curricular programs of the campus. The dean of campus will be responsible for the development, management, and review of the campus community relations. He/she will promote responsive and creative thinking in a partnership between school and home.

RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:

Essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Maintain a commitment to cultivating and promoting a model of academic and cultural discipleship centering on the home.
2. Lead the development and daily delivery of academic and co-curricular programs of excellence to ensure students achieve the best possible learning outcomes.
3. Manage curriculum compliance to meet external requirements and promote best practices.
4. Ensure a Christian perspective to all aspects of programming and school environments.
5. Coordinate and oversee essential functions of daily school operations, such as scheduling, lunch, recess, supervising children, attending to minor or emergency medical needs, etc.
6. Lead campus community-relation activities and communication, including campus promotion for enrollment growth.
7. Assist with planning and recruiting qualified specialist staff, faculty, and coaches.
8. Build a team approach and induct all new employees to campus.
9. Create a professional environment to support growth, success, and opportunity for employees.
10. Observe teachers and provide regular feedback on classroom classical instruction strategies such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, discovery, chants, songs, poems, etc.
11. Network with other schools, community groups, professional organizations, sporting bodies, associations, etc. to enhance opportunities for excellence and learning.
12. Contribute to strategic planning and decision making.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.

10. Be able to use technology with confidence and ease and have a working knowledge of Google Suite (i.e. Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.).
11. Be a responsible steward of the school’s resources and support the school’s fundraising efforts as able.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITY REQUIRED:

To perform this job successfully, candidates must have:

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; a master’s degree in a related field preferred.
2. Prior experience in Christian classical education.
3. Previous teaching experience.
4. Understanding/experience with a University-Model schedule.

Independent/classical school and administrative experience and prior knowledge of Second Baptist Church and School are considered a plus.
