This ongoing locum tenens opportunity offers a blend of scheduled clinical hours and call responsibilities, starting as soon as possible (ASAP). Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive radiation oncology care to a diverse adult patient population in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Conduct thorough patient history and physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests (imaging, biopsies), develop effective treatment plans using advanced radiation therapy techniques, and ensure optimal patient outcomes. Consult with referring physicians and other specialists to develop a collaborative treatment plan for cancer patients. Perform daily clinic consultations with new and existing patients, addressing their concerns and providing ongoing support throughout their treatment journey. Oversee the delivery of radiation therapy treatments by a team of therapists, ensuring accuracy and safety. Participate in tumor boards to discuss complex cases and develop individualized treatment strategies. Document medical records accurately and efficiently within the EPIC electronic medical record system. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in radiation oncology and participate in ongoing professional development activities. Qualifications: Active and unrestricted Washington (WA) medical license or eligibility for licensure through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) is mandatory. Board certification in Radiation Oncology is mandatory. Fellowship training in a relevant subspecialty (e.g., Stereotactic Radiosurgery, Brachytherapy) is preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting is preferred. Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in radiation oncology. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a dynamic environment. Schedule: Combination of Scheduled Clinical Hours and Call: This locum tenens opportunity offers a well-rounded schedule with dedicated clinic time and call responsibilities. Flexible Coverage: We are initially seeking coverage for 1-2 weeks in October and November, with a dedicated period from December 16th to December 27th to cover a vacation. Clinic Schedule: Expect standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, within our outpatient clinic setting. Call Responsibilities: Be prepared to manage call duties, including evenings and weekends, during the designated vacation period. Additional Considerations: Clean Medical History: Candidates must possess a clean medical malpractice history to expedite credentialing.
