Systems Administrator IV Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD – 100% ONSITE Secret clearance is required Must be Security+ certified Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform system administration duties on a variety of data systems. • Design, develop, install, maintain, and administer complex devices and systems. • Analyze, design, develop, install, configure, operate, maintain, and administer IT hardware and software components and systems. • Design, develop, modify, test, and implement software programming applications including web applications. • Participate in technical test reviews and analysis of developed and implemented systems. • Follow and enforce system administration best practices. • Contribute to the best practices effort by documenting new standards as needed. • Follow and monitor project/maintenance schedules and meet project/maintenance deliverables. • Meet with team leads to ensure coordination of project/maintenance goals, objectives, priorities, status, and concerns; reporting also required. Qualifications: • 7+ years’ experience in systems administration including at least 5 years in a lead or supervisory role. • Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Must be Security+ certified (or hold an equivalent certification in compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level II). • Must hold a computing environment (e.g. Microsoft, Red Hat). • Experience in the management of Microsoft technologies (e.g., Windows Server 2012/2016) including installation, configuration, and applying security settings. • Knowledge of UNIX variants, particularly installation and configuration of Red Hat Linux. Experience with Network Attached Storage. • Experience with management of Microsoft database technologies, including SQL and Access. • Experience with installation and configuration of Windows Server technologies and other government- approved server or desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows, Unix, or Red Hat Linux). • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint technologies, to include SharePoint Designer and custom workflows. Knowledge of networking principles and components. • Knowledge with physical database architecture, design, database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures. • Install and configure MS SQL server on Windows Server technologies, performance tuning, query optimization, client/server connectivity, database consistency checks using DBCC utilities, capacity planning, and Microsoft SQL clusters, and SQL DR. Experience with Windows event and performance monitoring. • Experience with networking to include TCP/IP, firewalls, routing, VLANs, general network troubleshooting, resource allocation and utilization for large databases, disk configuration, including the maintenance of hardware and software RAID 1-N. • Knowledge of database design, data modeling and query execution, database replication, migration, and backup and recovery. • Knowledge of scripting languages, including one or more of: bash, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Perl. • Experience with database performance tuning, capacity planning and bottleneck resolution, building and maintaining high-availability, clustered and scalable systems, load balancing, etc. • Experience with management of a production environment with the following: automated install, automated build and deployment, automated configuration management, enterprise monitoring systems, server virtualization, load balancing, web servers, and application servers, Microsoft server operating systems and middleware, server configuration and installation, performance and network monitoring tools, operating systems upgrades and migrations. • Must have strong troubleshooting skills. • Knowledge of UNIX variants, particularly installation and configuration of Red Hat Linux; Network Attached Storage. #M2
