Job Summary
NetApp is looking for an experienced Software Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about testing and testability and uses that knowledge to develop innovative automated testing solutions for our state of the art storage solutions. You will be part of a high-performing product development team that works Data ONTAP storage solutions. ONTAP is a feature rich stack with its rich data management capabilities that has tremendous value to our customers and are used in mission critical applications across the world.You will work as part of a team responsible for the automation development, testing and debugging of distributed software that drives NetApp cloud, hybrid-cloud and on-premises solutions. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This is an entry-level technical position that requires an individual to be systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, able to work in a small and large cross-functional teams, willing to learn and driven to produce results.
Essential Functions: Work as a member of the team on projects involving automation of new features, sustaining, handling engineering escalations Participate in all phases of product development cycle: from product definition and design, through implementation, debugging, testing and early customer support Work collaboratively with other peer team members and other teams on the product like Development, Systemic Test Engineering, support and other dependent engineering teams to understand customer use cases, deliver solutions and bring in the value from those teams into work done within the team. Should be able to work with other engineers and solve technical issues
Job Requirements
Proficient in testing methodologies (functional/non-functional testing). Strong programming skills in Python is essential. Familiarity with Pytest, REST Apis and Postman Rest Clients is a plus. Deep understanding of code workflow, error handling, detecting issues, etc. Understanding of multi-threaded & multi process environments. Experience with Linux/FreeBSD development. Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Qtest is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
Education & Experience
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years related experience, a Master's degree with 0+ years related experience, or equivalent work experience. #Relaunch Compensation: The target salary range for this position is 112,230 - 157,740 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
