IT Infrastructure Project Manager

The project involves a complete upgrade to 400G network infrastructure, with multiple teams, vendors, and phases, operating in a highly sensitive environment that requires minimizing disruption to critical client operations. Our Client requires a technology project manager to develop and maintain the overall project schedule, establish a baseline, identify the critical path, and coordinate closely with the project management team, stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must have five (5) years of proven technology project management experience in successfully leading complex technology projects, managing technology vendors and corporate stakeholders.
- Candidate must provide Project Experience Documentation as specified below:
- Documentation of experience of projects of similar size, scope and complexity, such as network upgrades, large-scale infrastructure, or technology implementations.
- Example Documentation: Case studies or project summaries with client names, project duration, size and outcome
- Candidate must be able to work on-site at San Francisco, CA three (3) days of the week.
Requirements:
- Experience with Large-Scale, Complex Projects:
- Proven experience managing schedules for large-scale, multi-phase infrastructure projects, preferably in technology or telecommunications environments.
- Familiarity with managing projects involving multiple vendors, technical teams, and significant stakeholder coordination.
- Airport or Critical Infrastructure Experience (Preferred):
- Prior experience working in environments with strict operational constraints, such as airports, hospitals, or other critical infrastructure, where disruptions must be minimized.
- Expertise in Scheduling Tools:
- Proficiency with industry-standard scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project (Preferred), Primavera P6) to manage timelines, dependencies, resource allocation, and risk.
- Ability to generate detailed project schedules, Gantt charts, and critical path analyses.
- Risk Management and Mitigation:
- The ability to identify scheduling risks and proactively suggest mitigation strategies to avoid project delays.
- Experience working with project managers to adjust timelines based on unforeseen changes or risks.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to coordinate with various teams, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on timelines and deliverables.
- Regularly report project status to key stakeholders, including project managers, technical leads, and executive sponsors.
- Flexibility to adjust to changes in scope, project requirements, and resource availability while focusing on meeting the overall project timeline.
- Willingness to work closely with airport operations teams to ensure project work meets operational constraints.
- Compliance with Airport and Safety Regulations:
- The scheduler must comply with all relevant airport safety and security protocols, especially when planning project tasks in restricted or high-security areas.
- Familiarity with badging and security clearance processes for accessing secure areas of the airport.
