Work Schedule Summary: Appointment is for 11 months, and depending upon sport assignment, positions will begin anywhere between mid-May to July 31, 2025.

Job Summary: Help develop and implement an overall Athletic Training program which includes injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, recording of athletic injuries, coordinating care and referral of athletes with other allied health professionals, dealing with insurance issues, and educational programs and counseling for student-athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Athletic Training services (prevention, treatment, evaluation, rehabilitation, and recording of athletic injuries, coordinating care of athletes with other allied health professionals, dealing with insurance issues, and communicating with coaches, parents and student-athletes) with assigned team and other responsibilities as determined by the Director of Athletic Training.
- Provide referrals to student-athletes to team physicians and other allied health professionals.
- Supervise and support the Athletic Training Staff in the clinical supervision of Student Athletic Trainers.
- Assist with staff and doctors in the development and implementation of policies in relation to the care of our student athletes.
- Compile injury and treatment statistics for program for assigned sports.
- Administrative duties as determined by the Director of Athletic Training.
- Ensure consistent communication and follow up of student-athletes' well-being to Athletic Department administrators, personnel, and team physicians.
- Coordinate physical examinations and medical referrals for assigned student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
- Evaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medicine program.
- Work in collaboration with the sports performance specialists, sport nutrition, psychology and mental wellness, physical therapy, and applied health and performance science staffs to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition, preventative programs, and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs.
- Assist in managing Athletic Training Facilities (includes inventory, maintenance of physical facility and equipment, and staffing).
- Aid the Athletic Training Education Program in the recruitment and selection of Student Athletic Trainers.
- Supervise student Athletic Trainers as they provide services to our athletes as a preceptor of the Athletic Trainer Education program.
- Maintain Athletic Training Certification and State Licensure by attending educational courses, seminars, home study courses approved by the National Athletic Trainer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree preferred in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) is required.
- Eligible for a Utah State Athletic Training Licensure (www.dopl.utah.gov).
- Familiarity and compliance with NCAA governing rules.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Demonstrate effective communication and human relation skills.
- A valid Driver’s License is required prior to start and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Preferences:
- Additional certifications and/or experience in rehabilitation, sports performance, and implementing preventative strategies.
- Familiarity and compliance with BIG 12 governing rules.
- Must have the physical ability to work long hours, which includes standing and walking for long periods of time.
