Evernorth is seeking a Managing Director, Data Governance and Strategy to lead the enterprise strategy on data and data governance; ensuring that all data generated, collected and used to support our company’s mission to enhance the health and vitality of the individuals and families we serve, while creating value for our clients, is safe, accurate and fit for purpose. The Enterprise Data Governance Managing Director role is a key leadership position to define and execute a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with business goals and meets regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The Managing Director will establish and oversee enterprise data governance frameworks across the enterprise, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security. The Leader will implement data policies, standards and guidelines to support data-driven decision making across all areas of the enterprise. The Managing Director reports to the VP Product Analytics with a dotted line to the SVP/Chief Innovation Officer, and will serve alongside the VP, Product Analytics as a member of the Innovation Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and management of the Enterprise Data Governance and Strategy Program, in partnership with key stakeholders including Business Line Leaders, Technology, Finance, Legal, Privacy, Risk Management and Audit, to ensure that data is generated, acquired, stored, accessed and managed in a manner that meets current and future business needs and complies with regulatory requirements. Partner with key matrix team partners to promote data governance and adoption of best practices for data and advanced analytics across the enterprise. Ensure clear communication of data strategies and initiatives. Lead efforts to ensure data quality and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR). Implement processes to monitor and improve data integrity across the organization. Establish governance/policies relative to AI generated data, ensuring such data is fit for purpose. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of data governance and data science initiatives, including progress of the company against industry best practices. Regularly report on progress to executive leadership. Lead efforts for procuring and managing reference data, and the management of reference data vendor/partner relationship, centrally, for enterprise leverage, and initiatives for expanding and improving the data/making better use of the data, are aligned to enterprise goals. Build and manage a high-performing team of data governance and data science professionals. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members. Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in health care, data science, AI, and data governance. Foster a culture of innovation by driving the adoption of cutting-edge data science tools and methodologies. Lead change management efforts to ensure the successful implementation of data governance policies and data science initiatives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Data Governance, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field required, or equivalent years of relevant work experience. Master’s degree / clinician background preferred. 7+ years of experience in PBM Clinical Systems, applied data science knowledge, or related fields. Experience in the healthcare payer or insurance industry is highly preferred. Ability to drive consensus across executive level matrix team partners with disparate views. Identify multiple potential solutions, clearly outline pros/cons and short-term/long-term implications of each, and drive decision makers towards the solution with the best possible business outcome. At least 5 years experience as a People Leader with respect to inspiring, engaging and developing both direct and indirect reports. Strong knowledge of data science methodologies, data governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in data management tools and platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Hadoop, etc.) Strong business acumen with the ability to align solutions with business objectives and market trends. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Lead with an enterprise mindset. Demonstrated experience working in a matrix organization to drive business results where the organizations providing critical services do not report to the accountable leader. Travel up to 20% If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
