About The Special District Group – Us
The Special District Group (SDG) is a team in Piper Sandler’s Public Finance practice that is dedicated to raising capital for public infrastructure for new development or redevelopment projects. We hold a dominant position in the market we serve and are actively growing into new markets that have demand for public infrastructure.

About This Critical Role – The Job
We are currently looking for an Associate Vice President – Business Development to join the SDG team in Denver, Colorado.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; possesses the ability to navigate multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines with strong organizational skills; and displays a professional demeanor to interact with senior partners, clients, and colleagues. The ideal candidate is a great communicator with a strong work ethic who is interested in a meaningful role on a supportive team. The accountabilities of this role include:
Lead Colorado Business Development and Relationship Management activities, including:
Identify and pursue new leads with a targeted transition to the banking team Prioritize top known relationships requiring specific strategy and attention Develop and execute client specific strategies Produce, update and present Business Development materials including new product lines Manage a database of opportunities and partner with individual banking teams to process through the opportunities Conduct market research to identify new real estate projects occurring across the state Attend industry networking events, conferences, and other industry specific events Prepare and maintain various marketing materials, including presentations, pitchbooks, research summaries, and market updates Build and maintain relationships with industry consultants, developers, and other external partners

Bachelor’s degree required. At least 5 years of relevant experience in land development or homebuilding. Proficient in use of digital software and technology, including databases, and MS Office suite.
You are available to work full-time in-person in our downtown Denver offices. You are based in, or willing to relocate to Denver.
