Air Dominance & Strike - Principal Mission Software Engineer (Robotics)

WHY WE'RE HERE: The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. We work in close coordination with specialist teams to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. We are looking for software engineers and roboticists excited about creating a powerful autonomy software stack that includes computer vision, motion planning, SLAM, controls, estimation, and secure communications. WHAT YOU'LL DO Write and maintain core libraries and services that perform critical functions for collaborative teams of robots. Own major feature development and rollout of large, complex features for our products. Work closely with Anduril and 3rd party vehicle hardware teams to align on requirements during product development. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS BS in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field Proven understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems Experience working with and testing electrical and mechanical systems 8+ Years experience with C++ or Rust in a Linux development environment Must be eligible to obtain and hold a US DoD Security Clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MS or PhD Experience in one or more of the following: motion planning, perception, localization, mapping, controls, and related system performance metrics. Python, Rust, and/or Go experience Experience programming for embedded and physical devices Multi-agent coordination of UAVs Complex frame transformation problems, such as target localization or multi degree of freedom robotic arms US Salary Range $196,000 - $294,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors. Actual salary offer may vary based on work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
