As a member of the Engineering Compute Global Grid Software Solution Team, you will be responsible for leading transformative development and optimization efforts in our HPC ecosystem. This includes participating in or leading architectural innovation and pathfinding efforts to create and implement Qualcomm’s next generation HPC environment focused on EDA for both on-premises and Cloud. This role expects the candidate to work as an individual contributor and a technical team lead based on the project assignment. Key Responsibilities: Develop solutions for optimizing parallel and distributed job processing in high throughput compute clusters. Lead pathfinding efforts in HPC for EDA domain ranging from compute, storage, networking, scheduling, and orchestration. Collaborate with CAD and infrastructure teams to optimize workloads leveraging the HPC environment. Collaborate with software and analytics team to implement necessary solutions in the HPC domain. Apply industry best IaC practices to managing the compute environment. Assess workloads on the grid and continuously evaluate resource utilization with a goal to extract the highest utilization possible. Active membership in the change management process with respect to HPC solutions. Provide periodic training to Engineers and Administrators on our grid solutions. Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree, OR 9+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree. Bachelors in Computer/Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent. 10+ years of work experience in HPC domain focused on EDA workloads. Experience leveraging container technologies at scale in an HPC environment. Deep experience with Linux and leveraging performance tools. Experience managing LSF, FLEXLM, and associated software running at scale. Solid understanding of all components of IT infrastructure: servers, storage, networks, firewall, etc. Expertise in scripting for automation (perl/python/shell). Expertise in workload optimization in HPC environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with and/or maintaining EDA workflows from a compute grid perspective. Hands-on experience in rolling out IaC solutions at scale. Hands-on experience in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. Experience handling large scale system failures and recovery. Experience analyzing data (timeseries and categorical) for decision making. Applicants:

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $141,600.00 - $212,400.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
