As the Facilities Project Management Assistant Director for the Hamilton County Facilities Department, you will lead and manage complex capital improvement and maintenance projects. Your responsibilities will include overseeing construction initiatives, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders to deliver high-quality facility enhancements. In this leadership role, you will supervise senior project managers and oversee contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure projects are completed successfully and efficiently.
Summary of Job Duties:
Functions as Project Manager for the Department of County Facilities managing construction of Capital Improvement (CIP) and Capital Maintenance (CMP) projects with budgets ranging from $50,000 to $50 million. This includes planning and scheduling projects, directing and managing the design team, providing daily contract administration, and ensuring compliance with contracts and specifications. Oversees and inspects construction and repair work in progress to ensure quality of workmanship and compliance with codes. Maintains budget for assigned projects; prepares monthly reports; develops project record documentation; and regularly informs the Director of project status. Advises and assists County departments regarding project inquiries and issues; reviews existing facilities; and develops preventative maintenance schedules. Reviews and researches contract documents; approves or declines work based on contract documents; may coordinate new or remodel construction projects. Chairs pre-bid award and job progress meetings; develops bid packages for professional contracts and services; prepares and submits contracts for Board approval. Maintains a level of personal professional development to stay abreast of changes in the facilities trades and project management area. Manages compliance with Ohio Revised Code 4115 guidelines for Prevailing Wage Projects. On call twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and one week per month; completes special projects and performs related duties as required. Hazardous Working Conditions
May stand for long periods of time, lift heavy objects, and work in uncomfortable environments. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs without a material handling device and use personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration or related field. 6 years of experience, including 4 years in a management capacity. Valid driver's license issued by state of residency. Demonstrable physical fitness and ability to access required work sites. Preferred Qualifications:
Certified Project Manager (CPM) Building Operations Certification, USGBC LEED Certification Position Specific Qualifications:
