Forklift Operator, Utility . The Forklift Operator, Utility is entry level support personnel required to facilitate plant operations including the use of light mobile equipment to direct the flow of materials through the process as it travels from raw materials to finished product. They may perform inspection of the product and processes as needed, and support and assist in maintenance work to minimize down time. This role is located in
East Alton, IL
and will be fully on-site. Starting Pay:
$26.42/hour Schedule:
Rotating Swing Shift (Days, Afternoons, Midnights) Pay Schedule:
Bi-weekly
Responsibilities
Forklift Operator, Utility
Responsibilities: Safely maneuver motorized material handling equipment in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations and reports service requests as needed. Ensure equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off or loading and unloading it. Safely select product with higher degree of accuracy. Follow direction of department leader(s). Collaborate with team members to achieve department goals. Efficiently move and load product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers. Perform routine inspection of work area to ensure sites are kept clean and safe. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Bring problems to the attention of the Supervisor, Safety or HR. Follow Daily Procedures & Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings. Attend meeting and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation. Work in other departments as needed. Perform General Laborer tasks as required. Participate daily with general housekeeping of warehouse and work area. Perform routine inspections of product as needed Operation of drum cleaning equipment Other duties as assigned. Forklift Operator, Utility Qualifications: Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to forklift operations. Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) Ability to read and understand packaging and shipping documents. Ability to read a tape measure and capability to read a vernier caliper Sit for extended period of times. Stand for extended periods, walk and reach with hands or arms. Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally. Use hands and fingers to handle, touch or manipulate items. Demonstrate good judgement and asks questions as needed. Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety. Maintains safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility. Stoop, reach, kneel, twist, and walk while handling cases of product. Have vision abilities to include proximate vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. High School Diploma or equivalency. Metals experience preferred, not required Must be at least 18 years of age. Three years of manufacturing experience or heavy labor experience
