The anticipated salary range for this role is between $238,000.00and $265,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. SMBC's trading businesses in SMBC Nikko America and SMCB Capital Markets are seeking a Head of Architecture for our Global Markets businesses to support our growing technology organization and systems environment. As the Head of Markets Architecture, you will define and lead the architectural approach for large-scale solutions that achieve significant business outcomes in fixed income derivatives and securities trading. Ensuring alignment to the enterprise architecture strategy, technology stacks and platform approach. Evaluating systems, design, and interfaces to ensure cohesion and synergy across the technology environment. Building tools, frameworks, and templates for best practices in our technology documentation and processes. Role Objectives

* Sets the architecture and technical direction for the entire organization delivering to key projects and portfolios. * Partners with Enterprise Architecture to develop, analyze, and implement key technical components, frameworks, and approaches. * Leads the technical planning, definition, and design of complex features that require coordination across multiple teams and technologies. * Evaluates the business impact of technical design decisions. * Selects appropriate technology tools for solutions, adhering to company guidelines and release processes. * Supports and mentors teams on design and coding best practices. * Works across business and technology to create the solution and vision from a technology solutions approach. Qualifications and Skills

* 15+ years of experience in building out front-to-back financial trading systems across fixed income cash and derivative products. * Proven experience as a technology architect * Evaluates the business impact of technical design decisions. * Hands-on experience in designing and implementing cross-product trading and risk systems. * Experience with trading operations systems including market data and transactional system middleware. * Experience with one of the messaging frameworks like Kafka, Rabbit-MQ or IBM MQ. * Experience building microservices. * Experience deploying to cloud environments. * Proven ability to work quickly in a dynamic environment with a collaborative approach. * Bachelor, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or related STEM field.
