WSoC Integration and Validation Engineer

As a WSoC integration and validation technical lead, you will spearhead the integration and optimization of PHY and MAC layer components in wireless communication systems. Your role focuses on verifying RTL code on emulation platforms, ensuring robust PHY/MAC layer performance, and achieving optimal hardware-software integration. You are expected to have a deep technical background in wireless protocols, RTL design verification, as well as expertise in PHY/MAC integration and validation in complex wireless environments. You will bring in-depth expertise in chip-level bring-up, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance, reliable, and scalable wireless connectivity solutions. Description Lead and drive the end-to-end integration and validation of various SOC blocks, including Bluetooth/NB/UWB PHY/MAC, proprietary HW Accelerators, etc. Design and conduct RTL verification through emulation and FPGA platforms, covering both functional correctness and performance metrics. Define and implement advanced test strategies, methodologies and frameworks to validate PHY/MAC integration. Identify, troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks for PHY/MAC systems at the RTL, hardware, and system levels. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, validation reports, and issue logs for RTL and PHY/MAC integration efforts. Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers in validation methodologies and debugging best practices. Minimum Qualifications BS with 20+ years relevant experience required. Preferred Qualifications Proven experience in wireless communications, with a strong focus on PHY layer design and integration. Solid understanding of DSP concepts and experience with implementing DSP algorithms in real-time systems. Expertise in RTL design (Verilog/System Verilog/VHDL) and RTL verification methodologies. Experience with chip-level bring-up, including familiarity with tools and techniques for hardware debugging. Experience with RTL/PHY/RF/MAC Verification. Strong coding skills in C/C++, Python, and scripting languages for test automation. Knowledge of wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, WLAN, UWB or others. Verification skills in problem solving, constrained random testing, and debugging. Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
