AIML - Senior Software Engineer- Simulation - AIML Special Projects
Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. Generative AI has the potential to unlock new experiences that were never possible before. At AIML Special Projects group we want to make great products that empower people and improve their lives. Simulation is a critical tool to realize that mission. Some examples of projects that you would work on include, but are not limited to, validating simulation realism and measuring the sim-to-real gap. This team has a strong focus on shipping AIML-based features and products. Our ideal team member is fearless when it comes to trying new things and is willing to iterate on ideas. We value team members who can quickly prototype, iterating all the way to high-quality implementations. Moreover, we value team members who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization. Description As a member of this team, you will use your background to (but not be limited to): Collect product requirements and understand all interactions which need to be modeled by the simulator. Design metrics that capture model realism. Develop a scalable pipeline to evaluate these metrics on a regular basis. Design ways to acquire reference data from the real world. Review and prototype algorithms, participate in periodic robotics and AIML research paper discussions and literature reviews. Minimum Qualifications Strong and proven software development skills. Passion for software architecture, API design, and developer experience. Strong Python and C++ development experience. Industry experience with statistical analysis. Track record of working cross-functionally to build strong partnerships amongst teams and individuals. BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related field. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large-scale simulation systems. Experience in data mining and data visualization. Experience with robotics, embodied AI, or LLMs. Experience developing connected applications powered by large scale data storage. Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity. We take affirmative action to ensure equal opportunity for all applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, Veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics.
