BI Manager

to join our Accounting Services BI & Projects Team. This

hybrid role

involves developing and coaching team members, driving process improvements, managing projects, and enhancing the broader Accounting team's knowledge of technology solutions. Job Summary: Responsibilities: Develop and coach direct reports and others (indirectly); support team with priorities and focus on development opportunities and knowledge sharing. Develop strong relationships within the Accounting Services department(s) and the broader Compass organization including Compass IT and the IT project teams. Work directly with others; provide insight and support for ideas. Identify and drive process improvements and efficiencies throughout the Financial Accounting Services teams, including but not limited to the Strategic Analytics team and the Union Accounting team, through management and oversight of projects and facilitate successful operational change management. Lead / Manage Projects identified by the business teams and develop innovative solutions to meet business goals and objectives. Build and implement end-to-end project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Define project scope, goals and results that support business goals in collaboration with all partners and stakeholders, including senior executives, sponsors, business owners and field operations on behalf of the Accounting departments. Understand team dynamics and adapt project management methodology as needed to ensure project success and assist in developing project management standard methodologies such as PMP, Lean Sigma, Agile, etc. Increase the broader Accounting team's knowledge of technology solutions by leading training and development sessions as a technology subject matter expert. Manage the RPA lifecycle, dashboards, and technical platforms for specified Accounting functions, including development of RPA and other associated technology solutions, process design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance (Power Platform experience a must) including extensive Power BI dashboards. Develop complex Power BI measures and dashboards. Utilize advanced DAX skills, design interactive dashboards, optimize data models, integrate data from various sources, implement custom visuals and security measures, and provide training and support to end-users. Document and analyze information and processes to solve critical business issues through process and platform re-engineering and proactively communicate project details and documentation of solution design and architecture. Base understanding of core accounting processes. Understand, implement, and adhere to proper accounting controls and KFCs. Ad-hoc Project and Acquisition Support if needed. Complete special projects as assigned by manager or senior management. Qualifications: Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems; MS Actg or MBA a plus. Accounting experience - 5 +years; Coding/System/RPA Development experience - 3+ years; Management experience - 2+years (preferred) managing direct teams; 3+ years project and program management. Power BI experience 4+ years of development (must have). Advanced reporting skills preferred - Power Query, Power BI, Excel. Ability to create new and understand existing SQL code. Experience working with Access Databases. Excellent problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skills. General understanding of Automation programming (various languages). Strategic thinking skills as evidenced by past performance. Ability to multi-task between various priorities in an ever-changing environment. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Committed and enthusiastic approach to delivery solutions to business customers. Ability to manage communication at all levels of the organization. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Strong Excel skills required, Access/Tableau database skills a plus). Experience with SAP or other large ERP. Ability to create SQL code and workflows to develop, produce (and understand) robotic process automations. Experience with a large company (> $3 billion sales) and extremely large data sets (> a million lines). Strong accounting knowledge and analytical skills. Prioritize and manage projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to foster solid business partnerships with peer management partners across multiple disciplines. Ability to implement a department vision as set by senior management and lead a team toward accomplishing that vision. Strong data analytic skills and working knowledge of business intelligence software available. Desire to continuously learn and grow as a professional.
