Americas Ops Regional Finance Business Partner

Introduction to role
AMERICAS Supply is a key region within Global Operations, responsible for seven manufacturing sites with an incurred cost base of $0.7bn per annum, employing approximately 2,000 FTEs and capital expenditures of around $150m per annum. The region comprises a diverse mix of global, regional, and Market Access manufacturing sites supplying products and medicines to markets and patients worldwide.
The regional Finance Business Partner (FBP) will lead and provide financial business partnering support to several key AMERICAS regional strategic projects, working in a cross-functional project environment. Additionally, this role will support the AMERICAS Supply Regional Finance Director in delivering high-quality financial management information, analysis, and insight, using Finance Transformation solutions to shape strategy and drive performance across the region. The FBP will also ensure strong financial controllership across the region.
Critical components of the role include:
Business Partnering supporting delivery of profitable growth through operating leverage and sustained business performance:
Proactively engage with senior business leaders and teams; providing advice, guidance, and support on financial matters, enabling strategic and operational decision-making to achieve optimal performance, supported by high-quality business case preparation and evaluation.
Ensure the delivery of Business Case financial benefits and strategic project financial objectives through optimal resource allocation, utilization of specialist financial knowledge, and leverage of AZ's end-to-end finance network.
Support the AMERICAS Supply Regional Supply Director in developing 5-year planning scenarios for all sites and delivering productivity improvement targets, liaising with Global Supply Chain and other Operations functions/sites to evaluate opportunities and risks in delivery.
Drive in-flight finance integration activities for key AMERICAS strategic projects to scheduled landmarks and financial targets.
Manage Americas Head Office budget through partnering with Americas SVP, Digital Lean Lead, and Strategy & PMO Lead.
Financial Controllership:
Strengthen financial policies, adherence, and optimization of the Financial Control Framework, working closely with the central Ops Finance Controller, Finance Controls & Compliance Group, and GFS teams, ensuring an effective control environment and integrity of financial reporting across the region.
Work closely with the AMERICAS Supply Regional Finance Director and sites across the network to review and enhance financial controllership duties and activities, ensuring effective and efficient delivery, meeting all Group and local requirements while enhancing the AZ Finance standard operating model. Identify improvement and standardization opportunities and assist in developing implementation plans for recommendation.
Work with US Controlling and Americas sites to deliver and implement key controls during the year.
Change agent and process simplification:
Leverage Finance Transformation solutions to gain more insight from the planning and performance management cycles. Use this knowledge and insight to drive delivery of productivity and performance improvement initiatives.
Drive process simplification and standardization across the AMERICAS network through delivery of inflight strategic project activities and alignment with AZ Finance Operating model, working closely and collaboratively with sites and global finance teams.
Developing team and people:
Work closely and collaboratively across site network and GFS organization, ensuring One Team approach and delivery of common finance and business objectives.
Assist in continued development of business and finance competence across all finance teams (sites & GFS) and key business teams (projects, sites).

Drive financial performance using a good understanding of the business model and financial drivers to challenge and influence the key cost drivers, setting stretching but attainable performance targets aligned to strategy and operational plans, proactively driving efficiencies including seeking cross-functional process solutions. Continuous Improvement, Governance, and Coaching:
Lead continuous improvement in Finance processes and capabilities, lead financial risk management, and financial governance in the area of accountability. Financial Controllership:
Ensure robust finance reporting & controllership across the region considering Group & Local requirements demonstrating global AZ Finance solutions. Essential Skills/Experience Bachelor’s Degree level education in Finance or Accounting Successful senior business partnering experience (6-8 years) Experience of working in a global pharmaceutical organization Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including oral & written Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to influence senior collaborators to drive business impact Agility of approach with demonstrable track record of inspiring change Successful track record of delivery in a shared service environment / complex matrix organization, including coaching skills, holding others to account Learner mentality, curiosity to challenge the status quo, and identify and deliver on opportunities Desirable Skills/Experience MBA or Masters’ Degree preferred Understanding of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Experience in Cost Accounting highly desirable When we put unexpected teams in the same room, we unleash bold thinking with the power to inspire life-changing medicines.
