Job Description - Research Program Coordinator, CCI (3315223)
The mission of the Center for Clinical Investigation (CCI) is to strengthen the culture for clinical research at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, by building services helpful to clinical investigators and facilitating the success of individual investigators.
Working independently and under general supervision from a manager, the Research Program Coordinator provides support to clinical research studies. Responsibilities include making independent judgments about study-related visits, advising study teams on the implementation of research visits, scheduling potential participants for clinical trials, maintaining and updating study data, and overseeing the work of entry-level staff.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet outpatient research subjects, check them in and out, notify investigators/study teams of arrivals, and facilitate visits to ensure quality and a positive experience.
Collect subject information at check-in and update subject records.
Prepare patients for visits, examinations, procedures, or treatments, documenting reasons for visits using accurate medical terminology.
Understand and demonstrate patient confidentiality, including the legal ramifications of violations.
Maintain outpatient rooms, ensuring necessary supplies and linens are available for research studies.
Assist in monitoring expiration dates and maintenance schedules for supplies.
Order and track administrative and processing supplies for outpatient units.
Perform receptionist, clerical, and other functions to support efficient practice operations.
Assist in assessing and improving the efficiency of systems and processes.
Maintain knowledge of Federal, State, and Hospital laws, regulations, and guidelines governing human subject research.
Assist in compiling and preparing data for internal and external constituents.
Support census activities and assist in creating monthly reports for CCI’s inpatient and outpatient units.
Provide scheduling support for outpatient research and assist inpatient scheduling activities.
Communicate with study teams and CCI administration regarding scheduling discrepancies.
Respond to visit requests within 24 hours.
Undertake special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A or B.S required; Health Care Administration background preferred.
Relevant experience in an academic health center preferred.
Knowledge of and experience with research-related activities preferred.

Outstanding organizational skills to manage competing timetables and responsibilities.
Ability to delegate, supervise, and plan for timely completion of objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse constituencies.
Ability to work independently and accept responsibility for complex decision-making.
Interpersonal skills to motivate and work positively with department heads, administrators, and physicians.
