Locum Tenens Pathologist Needed in California Wine Country (j-215723) Are you a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist seeking a unique locum tenens opportunity in a beautiful California community near Pauma Valley? We have an immediate need for a skilled and experienced physician to join our solo practice and provide exceptional patient care. Here's what this opportunity offers: Short-Term Commitment: Make a significant impact in a short timeframe, covering the week of September 16th-20th for 8 hours per day. Independent Practice: Enjoy the autonomy of a solo practice environment while collaborating with consulting pathologists at a nearby sister hospital (45 minutes away with courier service available). Focus on Patient Care: Maximize your time spent interpreting cases with a manageable daily volume of 10-15, with a focus on small GI biopsies and notable GYN pathology (approximately 1 cancer case per week). Minimal Call: Enjoy a predictable work-life balance with very rare after-hours call and non-existent weekend call. Professional Development: Participate in regular tumor boards and breast pretreatment conferences to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements (CME opportunity). Key Responsibilities: Perform grossing and interpretation of a variety of anatomic and clinical pathology specimens. Collaborate effectively with consulting pathologists at the sister hospital when needed. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Cerner EMR system. Qualifications for Success: Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABP). Fellowship preferred, but not mandatory. Valid California medical license to practice medicine without restrictions. Current certification in ACLS to demonstrate your commitment to patient safety. Experience with grossing is essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues and healthcare professionals. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and independent work environment.
