We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team specializing in Enginering located in Seymour, IN!
METs are responsible for supporting engine test cells for engineering development testing. This entails maintaining data collection systems, engine/test cell instrumentation, performing mechanical work in/around the test cells, and collecting data for engineering development purposes. Some commonly used data acquisition/monitoring systems include Cyflex, Calterm, Indicom, AVL, Horiba, CAI, FTIR, PM measurement, soot carts, load cells, and fluid flow meters.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Build, repair, and prepare articles for testing and associated auxiliary equipment

Install test article into test structure (test cell, table, rig, etc.)

Perform tests in accordance with set test methods

Perform testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology.

Have an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results

Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment
To be successful in this role you will need the following:

Performs rig, engine and component builds, tear down, and inspections

Data Acquisition - Prepares samples, verifies equipment calibration and performs tests according to an approved standard procedure or work instruction in a manner which ensures, and results in, data that can be trusted and delivered to the engineer or customer

Data Reporting - Prepare documentation in a manner which clearly organizes and presents testing methods, instrument settings, the data and analysis to allow the engineer and customer to understand the results and form accurate conclusions and recommendations
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
-
High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.

Regionally applicable certification or two-year associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required with Department of Labor Certification OR associate's degree from an accredited program in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Department of Labor Certification OR four-year experience/education requirement accomplished through either Bachelor's degree in related field OR associates degree in related field and at least two years of relevant experience.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
Performs testing in accordance with established test procedures and methodology. Consistently provides accurate and reliable test results. Has an in-depth understanding of the function on of the test equipment used to perform test and the contribution of the test equipment to the validity of the test results. Configures and operates data acquisition systems; analyzes and reviews data for appropriateness. Has an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the product under test to assess the contribution of the product to the validity of the test results. Performs test stand installation, troubleshooting and setups and the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment Provides support/recommendations to engineering for equipment supplier evaluation and qualification, equipment and facility updates and instrument specification Performs other duties as required.
