Opioid Treatment Program Dosing Nurse (LPN) - Full Time Days

We are seeking a full-time LPN to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) team located at Garner Road in Raleigh, NC. The OTP provides medication assisted therapy using Methadone and Suboxone.

Within the LPN scope of practice and under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor (RN), you will provide direct nursing services and participate in the overall treatment plan of SouthLight adult outpatient clients, which includes Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), Primary Care, and Behavioral Health.

Schedule

Full-time days, 40 hours per week.

Mon - Fri + every other Saturday (5:00am - 1:00pm).

Pay

Starting range is $25.00 - $29.00 per hour (+$2 per hour shift differential for weekend hours).

You will be eligible for medical benefits the first of the month following your first 30 days. Job Responsibilities of an Opioid Treatment Program Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

  • Supply and administer methadone or suboxone according to specific orders and protocols implemented by the MAT medical provider.
  • Participates in ongoing assessment for signs and symptoms of over-sedation or withdrawal and alerts RN or MAT Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (MAT medical provider)
  • Log all prescription and OTC medications being prescribed to clients
  • Participate in intake as directed by Nursing Supervisor or medical staff. This may include, but is not limited to: measuring vital signs, obtaining medical/psychiatric histories, performing a review of systems, collecting urine/blood specimens as needed and performing TB tests
  • Assist with telephone orders from MAT medical providers as delegated by the RN
  • Ensure lab results are received and available in the electronic record. Notify MAT medical providers and counselors of positive client drug screens
  • Identify abnormal client behavior; document and report to RN or MAT medical provider
  • Assist RN or medical provider with management of medical crises

Qualifications of an Opioid Treatment Program Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Educational and Experience

  • Completion of accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program
  • 2 + years' experience working with individuals with MH/SU disorders

Minimal Licensure / Certification

  • Unrestricted LPN Licensure in NC

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to organize resources and establish priorities
  • Ability to keep timely and accurate documentation
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Windows Operating System
    • Methasoft dosing system (Preferred)
  • Ability to identify and report client sedation
  • Ability to draw blood / obtain urine specimens / measure and record vital signs
