Job Description: The VP, Total Rewards will contribute to our Vision and Mission by owning and delivering a strategic and inclusive total rewards program that will help power our growth through attracting, motivating, and retaining our talent in all parts of our business.
The successful candidate will use a proactive and innovative approach to ensure that our rewards are competitive, drive business results, are aligned with our culture, and are valued by our team members. This person must be both a strategic leader and hands-on contributor who is passionate about how compensation, benefits and well-being of our employees impact the employee experience by building a competitive total rewards program to become a top employer of choice. The VP, Total Rewards will report to the CHRO and will have direct management oversight to our compensation and benefits teams.
Position will be based in Paramus, NJ or Boston, MA.

Role & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the total rewards team, which includes our compensation and benefits team members, by ensuring the ongoing coaching and development of each employee while providing a culture of trust and empowerment.
  2. Develop and execute, in collaboration with management, a total rewards strategy and compensation approach that embraces competitive data and innovative approaches that are aligned with Veolia’s culture aimed at attracting and retaining talent in a competitive environment and across multi business units.
  3. Responsible for the design and administration of compensation programs including base pay, merit, compensation planning, and market analysis, salary administration for all global staff, job evaluation, 401K plan design and administration, executive compensation, and incentive plan design and administration.
  4. Oversight for the design and administration of global benefits programs including, but not limited to, wellness, leaves of absence, education benefit, health and welfare benefits etc.
  5. Remain current on comp and benefits standards methodology, changing legal landscape, access, communicate and address potential impact on business.
  6. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of our rewards programs to ensure they are aligned with our business and talent strategies and market trends; make recommendations for changes, as appropriate.
  7. Partner with external compensation resources; oversee all activity related to compensation surveys, market trends and competitive pay positions to ensure Company 's salary plans remain competitive in the market.
  8. Work closely with the CHRO, CFO and other appropriate stakeholders on annual merit and bonus roll out.
  9. Routinely assess cost effective, competitive, benefits position relative to the market.
  10. Ensure all programs are administered in compliance with regulations, ensure all audits are conducted at the group level.
  11. Collaborate with Veolia Group Total Reward team in sharing the NAM objectives and priorities, attending the Total Reward Veolia network, supporting the implementation of the Total Reward Veolia processes.

Qualifications Education /Experience /Background:
  1. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communication or Business; Master’s degree, MBA or other advanced degrees a plus.
  2. More than 10 years of Industrial, Energy, Water, and/or Environmental business sector(s) with demonstrated experience in Sales and Business Development.
  3. Experience in Marketing, Strategy, Communication, Public Affairs.

Knowledge /Skills /Abilities:
  1. BA/BS Degree and at least 10 years of experience in compensation and benefits management.
  2. Must have a deep understanding of fully insured and self-insured Health and Welfare Benefit Plans, 401(k) Plans, and Compensation Management and the accompanying laws and regulations associated with these functional areas.
  3. This position requires prior supervisory experience and excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
  4. Strong work ethic with planning and execution skills for a fast-paced environment.
  5. Strong communication (written and verbal), organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong attention to detail.

Required Certification /Licenses /Training:
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and/or HR Certification via SHRM or HRCI designations preferred.
