Job Summary

The VP, State Government & Regulatory Affairs is responsible for state governmental policy and advocacy matters, serving as Comcast's chief advocate on all public policy and regulatory matters before the Colorado State Legislature, Executive Branch, and the Public Utilities Commission. Develops and implements legislative and state administration strategies, monitors legislation, coordinates state association management, and assists in facilitation of state government-facing business initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  1. Oversee state legislative government and regulatory affairs activity and secure franchise operating authority.
  2. Set strategic direction for franchise renewals and serve as escalation point for complex franchise issues.
  3. Manage relations with state governments, including advocacy before the legislature and state agencies.
  4. Collaborate with senior management and State Government Affairs personnel to shape public policy.
  5. Identify state administrative and legislative issues impacting Comcast's business partners.
  6. Provide guidance at all management levels to ensure consistent state government policy.
  7. Draft, analyze, and present legislation and testimony as necessary.
  8. Develop relationships with government representatives and regulators.
  9. Coordinate with Regional External Affairs team on community investment programs.
  10. Manage relationships with outside counsel, consultants, and lobbyists.
  11. Monitor state legislative and regulatory activities affecting the Company.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Communications or Government, or related discipline; law or related advanced degree preferred.

Additional Requirements

Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in Government Affairs. Must possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Salary: Pay Range: $245,196.16 - $367,794.24

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related factors such as experience.
