A Day in the Life: Daily pickup of soiled labware from labs, clean, sterilize, and redistribute to satellite storage areas. Maintain consistent good housekeeping. Interact daily with scientific staff and fulfill labware requests. This position is passionate about service delivery quality for UnityTM Lab Services Site. Keys to Success: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required, College preferred. Experience: Experience in customer service, laboratory settings, or services preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1-2 years of experience preferred. Diligent, self-motivated, problem solver, promotes a positive team environment. Must possess strong communication, written skills, and customer focus to deliver excellent customer service. Strong analytical skills to reconcile various reports to meet customer requirements. Consistency in applying strong interpersonal skills to multitask and meet tight expectations in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of basic digital literacy. Familiarity with working in a laboratory setting including the operations of glassware washers, autoclaves, and dryers. Understanding of GDP and cGMP. Experience in cleaning, deactivating, and assembly of Bioreactors. Working Conditions: Works primarily onsite, stock rooms, storage locations, and laboratory environments. Extensive walking is required. May pass through areas where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.). Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds consistently and use material handling equipment such as push carts. Depending on the area of a building, personal protective equipment may be worn including lab coats, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses. Some areas require steel-toe shoes and bump hats. Able to work overtime as needed. Abide by glassware processing schedules and remain flexible to fast-paced changing priorities. Perform inspection of glassware for cracks, breaks, and scratches contacting the supervisor/manager/team Lead with all pertinent information for replacement. Provide glass wash statistics as Thermo Fisher Scientific and the customer decide upon. Handle inventory and stock-taking of glassware in locations throughout the facility. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
