SUMMARY
Position Overview:
The Director of Business Development reports to the President. This role is charged with driving the growth of the company's business model; develops and executes sales strategies against corporate goals and objectives and develops and scales up new business and customer bases. This role is responsible for helping the company to achieve financial goals and objectives and increase operating performance, prepares budgets, creates business plans and solves internal issues as they arise.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or ten to fifteen years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and ideas to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Current Driver's License
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Frequent travel is required (quantify, e.g. up to 40% per year)
Understanding of software packages applicable to various projects is required
Building credibility at all levels and create strong, positive relationships inside CULA as well as with its' clients is required

Position Description
- The Director of Business Development is the primary liaison between CULA and its' Lender Partners.
- The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing best practices and tools for sales execution and management.
- The Director of Business Development is responsible for creating and maintaining the company's strategic plan, budgets, and departmental project plans
- The Director of Business Development is responsible to direct and deploy company's resources to accomplish corporate goals and objectives.
- The Director of Business Development is responsible for monitoring current market conditions and needs to alter or change company's current products or develop new products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Current Account Support
- Responsible for monitoring current market conditions and needs to recommend alterations or changes to the company's current products or need in development of new products
- Designs and recommends marketing programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies for each account/prospect.
- Evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase sales volume and profit.
- Establish positive, professional relationships with employees and management of company's lender partners to further "partner vs. vendor" relationship
- Contact and visit lender partners to present information on open projects as well as company's other products and services
- Focus sales efforts by studying existing rates, advance rules and other lending guidelines to ensure market acceptance and program use and volume
- Responsible for the creation of recommendations regarding potential changes to lender partner's guidelines which will increase volume
- Resolve client issues, both internally and externally
- Maintains client satisfaction
- Reacts to client adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
CULA Internal
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish company's goals.
- Works with Accounting Team, Operations Team and Information Technology Team to prepare budgets, create departmental plans, complete projects, achieve goals and objectives and increase operating performance.
- Works with Legal Counsel to maintain an awareness of all laws and regulations plus developments or trends within the lending industry
- Responsible for maintaining vendor partner relationships
New Prospecting (Sales)
- Responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development operations
- Responsible for identifying sales opportunities in company's target market segments
- Drives the company's achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals
- Create and apply company's consumer demographics, execute database searches and analyze results to establish and refine prospective lender partners
- Solicit prospective lender partners
- Complete and present proposals
- Complete execution of company's Confidentiality Agreement
- Complete execution of company's Master Agreement negotiation
- Complete execution of company's Master Agreement amendments
- Move prospective clients through the "Onboarding" process
- Attend industry conferences
- Responsible and accountable for closing all new accounts
Research & Development
- Design and recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
- Conduct research into sales-related issues and develop new products.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES
- Responsible for scaling the sales department to capture market opportunities
- Accountable for deploying company's direct and indirect sales resources
- Leads Executive Team through company's yearly strategic planning, budgeting and departmental project plans
