Job Description: Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia's capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance. The Director of Organizational Development/Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives, serves as a key strategic partner to the President, driving institutional excellence through innovative organizational development strategies and assisting with high-impact presidential initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and implementing comprehensive programs that enhance employee capabilities, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and align with the college's mission and strategic goals.

The Director of Organizational Development will spearhead an employee development program, provide coordination of the employee recognition programs, and oversee special projects critical to the President's vision for the institution. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the college's future by promoting employee engagement and translating strategic priorities into actionable plans that ultimately drive student achievement and institutional success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Organizational / Professional Development:

Develop and implement professional development programs for employees including leadership development programs Design and oversee comprehensive programs to enhance employee capabilities and foster a culture of continuous improvement Stakeholder Engagement:

Engage with executive leadership, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of organizational development strategies Build collaborative relationships across departments to drive organizational effectiveness Culture Development: Infuse a strengths-based positive leadership model that helps to nurture and shape a high-performing, vibrant organizational culture. Design strategies to enhance the college culture and promote employee engagement aligned with the college's values Lead efforts to enhance a culture of inclusive excellence Innovation and Best Practices:

Remain current with trends and best practices in organizational development and higher education Introduce innovative approaches to enhance organizational effectiveness Champion the use of technology to enhance organizational development, including virtual support and artificial intelligence Strategic Leadership:

Work closely with the President to develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with the college's mission and goals Manage highly visible, complex projects and activities on behalf of the President Provide direction for organizational development strategies and programs

Presidential Strategic Initiatives:

Spearhead special projects critical to the President's vision for the institution Other duties and special projects assigned by the President

Reporting and Communication:

Provide regular updates to the President about organizational development initiatives and their impact Provide the President with appropriate, accurate, and timely information to facilitate efficient and effective decision-making and follow up required for implementation. Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in business, Education, Educational Leadership, Organizational Development, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or similar interdisciplinary field Minimum of five years' administrative experience working in higher education, providing direct supervision and maintaining a strong group dynamic Ability to maintain professional judgment, discretion, and confidential information Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to facilitate groups, collaborate with others, fostering strong relationships to instill trust and communication across departments Ability to synthesize and summarize quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful information in both written and verbal formats. Strong organizational and conceptual skills Proven record of accountability and follow-through Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member in a complex and fast-paced environment with a strong commitment to team success Ability to work independently with minimum supervision Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task with a "can-do" approach Strong technical proficiency including Microsoft Office with an emphasis on documents, spreadsheets and presentation tools Additional Considerations:

Earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution More than five years of community college administrative experience with public-facing duties Demonstrated success in working with external constituencies to listen, build relationships and develop support Proven track record with significant experience leading and energizing teams to achieve a shared goal A visionary leader who thrives on transforming lives by bringing out the potential in people
