As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are looking for an Advanced Facilitator in our Southside Clinic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Escorts patients from the waiting area to the exam room, verifying patient name, DOB, and body part being examined.
- Cleans rooms between patient appointments, including removal of biomedical waste.
- Restocks all exam rooms, including injections, physician pamphlets, medical supplies, etc.
- Cleans all exam rooms at the end of each clinic, which includes wiping down exam tables, changing all pillow covers, spraying down each room with Lysol, and ensuring all medical supplies are in the proper place and well stocked.
- Must have a good understanding of how to operate within the EHR and PACS systems.
- Various other clerical/clinical duties as needed.
- Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products.
- Performs venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and following medical practice protocols related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality. Conducts laboratory tests on specimens. Enters data into computer.
- Assists donor after, during, and after donation.
- Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
- Monitors HER Task box for DME Orders.
- Reviews DME orders for accuracy.
- Greets referred DME patients in a timely and professional manner.
- Obtains and explains patient’s financial responsibility and return policies prior to fitting patient.
- Properly measures, sizes, and fits ordered equipment on patient.
- Obtains all required signatures for DME Fee Tickets, Authorizations, and Notes.
- Conducts scheduled Inventory and submits order to DME Team Lead for processing.
- Pulls inventory for upcoming surgeries based on location and coordinates dispensing to provider teams.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma. Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.
EXPERIENCE
- At least one of experience working with electronic health record systems preferred. Orthopedics experience and NextGen experience preferred.
- Preferred one year of phlebotomy experience. Medical practice experience helpful.
- ASCPP required, certification as medical assistant preferred but not required. National certification through American Medical Technologists as a registered phlebotomy technician not required but helpful. Current CPR certificate.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma.
- ASCPP required.
- Current CPR certificate.
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques and surgical procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques.
- Knowledge of clinic protocols and policies.
SKILLS
- Skill in performing efficient and effective draws.
- Skill in conducting cooperative interactions with patients and staff.
- Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
- Microsoft Office Suite capable.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Performs duties in medical exam/procedure rooms.
- Exposure to communicable diseases, sharp instruments, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals.
- Works with blood draw equipment including syringes, tubes, bandages, and other appropriate supplies.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
- Involves standing six to eight hours per day, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies and equipment and help with patient transport and transfer.
- Occasional stress with priorities and anxious patients.
