Seeking Instructors to teach Healthcare courses: Phlebotomy / EKG (Hourly, Part-Time)
Schedule: Courses may be offered day, evening (ie., 2X per week 6:30-9:30pm), and weekend and in a variety of formats including hybrid (Online/In-Person)
General Description:
Lehman College School of Continuing & Professional Studies (SCPS) seeks well-qualified instructors with experience teaching Phlebotomy / Electrocardiography (EKG) and preparing students for National Healthcareer Association Allied Health certifications. Responsibilities
Instruction/Curriculum/Administration
- Provide both in-person classroom training, as well as virtual instruction through the College’s digital learning environment platform and other technologies
- Provide curriculum development including creating and updating curricula, and planning course content and methods of instruction in a manner designed to assist the student to achieve the specific course objectives
- Provide each student and College staff at the beginning of each course with a syllabus / course outline
- Prepare and administer written, oral, and performance activities, tests, and assessments to students
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, and other records and databases according to program needs or requirements
- Proficient in independently using the College's various platforms, particularly those for instructor management, course management, payroll, communication, and enrollment management, which require high accuracy and attention to detail
- Provide prompt and efficient service to College staff
- Participate in College meetings as appropriate
Program of Study
- Patient Care Technician courses include:
- Phlebotomy
- Electrocardiography (EKG)
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years’ experience teaching adult learners attending allied health programs
• College degree in related field
Preferred Qualifications
• EKG, Phlebotomy, and PCT national certification (by NHA) or Nursing Degree
• Related hands-on work experience in the healthcare field
• CPR/BLS certification
