OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for directing and supporting the warehouse department, ensuring efficient inventory management and upholding high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping. The role requires strong leadership skills, strategic planning, and collaboration with various departments to optimize warehouse operations and support mining activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety & Housekeeping: Uphold the highest safety standards and ensure a clean and orderly warehouse environment.

Inventory Management: Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the computerized perpetual inventory system.

Obsolete Materials: Work with purchasing and department heads to identify and dispose of surplus or obsolete materials.

Procedures & Compliance: Develop and implement corporate guidelines for warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Team Leadership: Supervise warehouse staff, ensuring proper shift coverage, performance monitoring, and required training.

Customer Service: Foster a customer-focused culture within the warehouse team, responding to operational needs and improving the department's reputation.

Security: Oversee the security of warehouse facilities, inventory, and equipment to prevent loss or damage.

Space Optimization: Maximize the utilization of warehouse space, including layout modifications for efficiency.

Inventory Storage & Distribution: Oversee receipt, storage, labeling, and distribution of inventory, ensuring compliance with company standards.

Stock Level Management: Maintain optimal stock levels and plan for future requirements based on operational forecasts.

Cycle Counts & Inventory Audits: Assist in planning and executing inventory counts, ensuring monthly cycle counts are completed accurately.

Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and accounts payable for timely resolution of inventory issues and purchase-to-pay processes.

Returns Management: Manage the return of over-shipped or damaged goods to suppliers and ensure credits are processed.

Training & Audits: Provide training to staff and conduct audits to ensure compliance with warehouse controls and policies.

Offsite Repairs: Facilitate the offsite repair process when necessary.

Month-End Reconciliation: Perform month-end reconciliation and reporting.

Asset Disposal: Collect and manage information related to the disposal of assets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 5 years of experience in warehouse, maintenance, or technical roles. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Understanding of supply chain concepts and basic knowledge of mining operations.

Three years of mining experience with demonstrated leadership ability (preferred).

Two years of supervisory experience in a related industry (preferred).

Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with computerized warehouse systems; ATF certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Proven problem-solving skills and demonstrated initiative.

Strong leadership and employee development skills, with a focus on coaching and mentoring.
