Job Description
Purpose – This Document will identify the job that the Warehouse Manager will perform, and it will outline the correct procedures that will ensure safety of the worker and others, while preserving the product quality and traceability.
Scope - As the Warehouse Manager, you are fully responsible for ensuring the efficient management and control of the Warehouse Operations, including Incoming Receiving, Organized Storage, Material Movements from Storage into Production.
As in any position in which you may handle food products and/or packaging materials, personal hygiene and safety are paramount. You are responsible for always following all the sanitation guidelines and the GMPs during your workday.
You are responsible for setting up and following the safety guidelines and for working diligently to help prevent any accident in the facility, and to prevent damage to the product.
Requirements
- Directs the shipping and receiving of the warehouse operations.
- Teaches, develop and coaches team members regarding warehouse operations, including forklift driving certifications, equipment, processes, and technical knowledge of warehouse systems.
- Implements inventory control measures and cycle counting.
- Evaluates daily shipment schedules while strategizing and prioritizing a daily work schedule to meet company and customer delivery requirements.
- Creates and manages distribution budget, variable expenses, productivity and cost per unit load.
- Leads the creation and execution of Food Safety Plans and Food Safety Fundamentals (HACCP, etc.) in the warehouse.
- Supervises warehouse employees to ensure that company procedures and policies are followed.
- Ensures that all warehouse operations are conducted in a way that adheres to all Wholesome Sweetener’s policies.
- Maintains all standards within the warehouse (SQF/QA, Sanitation, OSHA and Inventory Control)
- Understand customer needs and ensure alignment with the needs/commitments of the business, via strong communication with the team.
- Plan day to day tasks for department, and plan for future capacity requirements.
- Keep up to date and respond accordingly to all enquiries.
- Ensure inventories are accurate and control inventory levels by ensuring physical counts are conducted as needed to support operations.
- Ensure the relevance and accuracy of all documentation relating to goods in and goods out including labeling of all stock items.
- Ensure that IRELY system is accurate and kept up to date.
- Identify any systems improvements and drive through recommendations for change.
- Ensure efficient and effective use of warehouse space to include layout and future capacity requirements.
- Develop and maintain metrics/KPIs, reports, process documentation, training and safety records.
- Create policies and procedures for warehouse activities and ensure all systems meet the standards in line with the quality systems.
- Create and implement best practice warehousing principles, policies and processes
- Ensure any hazardous materials are stored in accordance with requirements.
- Ensure that vehicles, machinery and equipment are well maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency (5S).
- Coach, manage and develop warehouse staff and team leaders to optimize performance and meet targets and deadlines.
- Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standards requirements and customer deliverables.
