- Safely operate construction equipment such as excavators, backhoes, front-end loaders, and similar machinery to move earth or materials.
- Start the engine, shift gears, operate pedals, and use steering to navigate equipment.
- Use CAT and DEERE controls to move levers for lowering, tilting, and filling buckets, and transporting materials to work sites.
- Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning equipment.
- Work closely with the foreman and other crew members to meet project goals and ensure safe trench excavation.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
- Ensure tools and equipment are safely stored after use.
- At least 5 years of experience operating construction equipment such as backhoes, excavators, and loaders.
- Previous experience in a related field such as truck driving or manufacturing.
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing, bending, and operating machinery.
- Strong communication skills to effectively work with team members and report issues.
- A strong work ethic and ability to follow safety protocols.
- This role requires prolonged periods of standing, sitting, bending, and operating heavy machinery.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and operate foot pedals to control machinery.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
