Job Description
- Operates heavy equipment proficiently, productively, and in compliance with the company operating safety policies and procedures.
- Operates equipment that may include forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders, wheeled and track skid steers, backhoes, compaction equipment, and additional heavy equipment.
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner.
- Follows appropriate standard operating procedures as guideline for operating and maintaining company vehicles.
- Works with hazardous and non-hazardous soils and substances in proper PPE while operating heavy equipment.
- Participates in a drug-free workplace with a random drug testing program.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent
- 5+ years of heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience
- 5+ years of experience operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders and/or backhoes
- Rough and fine grading required.
- Experience breaking concrete a plus.
- Sloping, benching, and certified compaction work experience required.
- High production truck loading experience required.
- Mass excavation experience required.
- Competent person for excavations a plus. If not, you must attend pass training this required OSHA training.
- Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record, commercial class A driver’s license preferred.
- 40-hr Hazwoper with current 8-hr refresher preferred
- Experience loading and unloading heavy equipment on trailers
- Grease and maintain equipment.
- Safety oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.
- Must pass drug screening and criminal background check.
- Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
- Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
