DVA Consulting has immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Operators to work at a Global Leader in Heavy Equipment and Mining Equipment. This is a temporary 3 month position.
Job Description:
Operate a variety of mining and construction equipment in support of product development at a Proving Ground's for a Global Mining leader. This Position is in Sahuarita, AZ. Apply experience and skills to evaluate safety, performance, quality, and reliability of new and modified models of haul truck, shovels, excavators, loaders, tractors, graders, and other machinery. Evaluate features and design of the operator interface. Provide feedback to design, simulation, and test engineers from hands-on test and evaluation.
JOB DUTIES:
• Apply operation skills to evaluate machines including structures, hydraulics, powertrain, electrical, electronics, and operator stations. Evaluate safety, performance, serviceability, and ergonomics.
• Make safety and health a priority during all work (and home) activities. Engage in culture of safety and participate in efforts and activities to continuously improve the safety of operations.
• Follow written work instruction, operations and maintenance manuals, standard test procedure, and safe job procedures for operation and execution of test work.
• Apply knowledge of machines, machine systems and tools (i.e. Electronic Technician) to perform troubleshooting of malfunctioning systems. Perform basic mechanical and machine maintenance work.
• Work with all staff and visitors in a collaborative team environment to complete complex test safely, with the highest quality, while meeting project schedules
• While working on new products, identify potential issues, potential system and component problems, potential maintainability problems, and potential failure modes. Communicate observations and findings to engineers and (diplomatically) make suggestions for improvement
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Three years of machine experience in mining, quarry, construction, and/or earthmoving operations. including haul trucks, shovels, excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, or underground mining equipment.
• Must be able to work continuously on one’s feet for 8 to 10 hours per day in a variety of environmental conditions (i.e. inside/outside, hot/cold/inclement weather, dusty environment)
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships.
• Able to use a personal computer to access work management systems and documents and basic proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Willingness and ability to pass pre-employment, random, and post-incident drug and alcohol screening.
