Job Description

  • Circuit Design & Development: Design and develop electronic circuits for automotive systems, including power electronics, sensors, control units, and other embedded systems.
  • PCB Design: Create and optimize printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for automotive applications, ensuring proper functionality and reliability.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Build and test prototypes to verify hardware functionality, performance, and safety under automotive conditions.
  • Component Selection: Select appropriate electronic components based on performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, automotive designers, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration of hardware into the overall vehicle system.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, specifications, test plans, and reports.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure hardware meets automotive safety standards (ISO 26262), EMC regulations, and environmental requirements.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Provide support for hardware issues during manufacturing and vehicle testing phases, and assist in resolving any technical issues.
Qualifications

  • BSME/ BSEE / BSCS or equivalent experience
  •  or equivalent experience
  • Develop and document electronics components (e.g. ECUs, sensors & actuators)
  • 4-6 years of experience
  • Fluid Hydraulics experience (Pumps & Valves)
  • Pneumatics experience
  • Mechanical Powertrain Experience
  • CAD Experience
  • Electronic Control Module (ECU) Experience (H/W & S/W)
  • Good communication skills
  • Project Management experience
  • Vehicle and simulator test experience preferred

Specific software & Database knowledge requirements include:

  • PC skills and Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • KOLA
  • GLOPPS
  • Associated interface hardware and Volvo ECUs.
  • Experience with the Volvo PROTUS tool and process
  • Microsoft Project
