We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electronic control and monitoring circuits for powered equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to collaborate with diverse teams, and demonstrate excellent planning and organizational abilities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform safety-critical functions, ensuring products meet specified control, performance, and tolerance standards without deviations or substitutions, in compliance with public safety and government regulations.
- Identify and interpret critical characteristic symbols on blueprints.
- Evaluate compliance with manufacturing standards, drawings, and customer expectations.
- Manage and support New Product Development (NPD) to meet business goals.
- Design and layout electrical schematics and PCB designs.
- Collaborate with customers to meet component specifications and deadlines, including travel as needed.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to transition new designs into production, ensuring compliance with industry and automotive regulations.
- Design and develop testing hardware and software to support product development and manufacturing operations.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot applications and software for new and existing products.
- Provide support for existing products by analyzing circuits and software for potential applications and solutions.
- Lead or participate in product testing for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Support the development of prototype and production tools, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
- Engage in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) to ensure reliable product development.
- Complete administrative tasks such as stock requisitions, tool sheets, and expense reports.
- Adhere to 6S safety and organizational guidelines: Safety, Sort, Straighten, Scrub, Standardize, and Sustain.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 2-5 years of engineering experience in designing PCBs and/or board bring up.
- Experience with electronics simulation, preferably in the automotive or commercial vehicle industry.
- Proficiency with C/C++ programming (Embedded), Visual Studio, and PADS/Mentor Graphics (Logic, Layout, Router).
- Experience with LabVIEW software.
