Senior Hardware Design Engineer Hybrid Warner Robins, GA Pay:DOE
Role:
Participate in development projects in a rapidly growing product development team to produce next Airborne Defensive Systems
Job Requirements:
Working knowledge of one or more schematic capture tools.
Ability to read and generate schematics, create parts lists.
Working knowledge in the use of basic test equipment; oscilloscope, DMM, power supplies, etc.
Understanding of basic analog and digital circuits including surface mount technologies, handling practices and reading Datasheets.
Quick learner with self-confidence and able to work independently.
Design experience using complex analog and digital components to include ASIC devices.
Analyze design requirements at product or subassembly levels from a system and hardware perspective.
Debug complex circuits, document findings and provide solutions.
Promote and spread information about technical solutions between different projects, strong testing infrastructure.
Promote consistency and maximize synergies across common hardware platforms including designing hardware for reuse and manufacturability.
Support the Project Manager(s) with respect to hardware planning.
Work with suppliers/vendors to select components, get circuit boards built, tested and qualified.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field and a minimum of 10 years' experience with skillsets in these areas: research, design, develop, and test systems and components such as circuit boards and product level integration and testing OR equivalent experience
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in Circuit design and simulation (Analog and Digital)
Experience with schematic capture tools OrCAD/Cadence. Some senior level positions require use of RTL coding using Verilog or VHDL and other FPGA tools.
Ability to develop automated self-checking test benches and verify HDL code.
Knowledge of FPGA architectural elements and their efficient use in complex designs.
Ability to develop synthesis and implementation constraints and take a design to completion.
Working knowledge with video, avionic discrete interfaces, 1553, ARINC, and one or more fiber technologies
Experience with high speed digital signal integrity and board layout constraints
Working knowledge of DisplayPort, SDI and digital control interfaces such as 10/100/1000 Ethernet, SPI, I2C or RS-232.
On basis of Market and Target Specifications, which are sometimes unclear and vague, be able to formulate detailed technical and design solutions.
Experience with EMI design and testing to MIL-STD-461 solution resolutions
Experience with defense systems LRU dynamic qualification (Shake and Bake)
Working knowledge of gated Quality Management Systems in an AS9100 environment
Ability to develop constraints for layout with good knowledge of high-speed signal integrity
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong attention to detail, highly organized, computer literate
Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
Ability to cooperate with others, both in and outside the company
Ability to work alone or take charge in a small team environment and mentor others
Willingness to travel CONUS
Skills and Experience:
Master's degree in a related field (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or other applicable Engineering degree)
Hands on experience using Vivado and / or Quartus-II
Knowledge of Solid-Edge mechanical CAD tool.
Has Python, 'C' or Basic coding skills for creating hardware test scripts
