What you'll do
The day-to-day
Support multiple networking communication products currently in production and future Next Generator products.
Your responsibilities will include: becoming familiar with the technical design of multiple product lines and working with team members to address a variety of issues, leading efforts to troubleshoot technical issues from production and the field, leading qualification efforts for component changes including updating schematics and design information, aiding the transition of prototype units to low rate initial production, implementing board level design changes through schematics, CAD support, and board checkout.

Salary range
$132,200.00 - $194,900.00 / annually.For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $164,200.00- $230,000.00/ annually

What you'll do
- Hands on experience troubleshooting of complex digital systems (Processors, memory, FPGAs, CPLD, microcontrollers)
- Identify and qualify replacements for obsolete parts
- Schematic/CAD updates relating to results and parts changes (Mentor Graphics flow preferred)
- Produce redlines and release documentation changes affecting product changes
- Use of both Windows and Linux operating systems to develop and execute tests
- Knowledge and use of scripting languages, e.g. PERL, PYTHON a plus
- Work closely with engineering technicians to devise and monitor tests for troubleshooting problem
- Identify rework needed to isolate and/or repair problems

What you'll need
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years hardware design or sustaining experience
- Foundational knowledge of analog and digital logic and timing considerations
- Must be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have history of managing time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and result
- US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 10%
What will help you on the job
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team
- Ability to document and report on technical solutions/findings
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products for documentation creation and modification
- Familiarity with standard test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc.)
- Familiarity with production related processes and common failure modes
- High aptitude for learning new things
- Desire to be part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production related issues
